The Atholl Highlanders is a Scottish ceremonial infantry regiment. They are the only remaining private army in Europe, and act as the personal bodyguard to the Duke of Atholl. The march is attributed to William Ross (1823-1891) a piper and bagpipe maker. The tune can be played as a 6/8 march or a jig.
